As an additional little project or "Make n Take" at Scrapstars we also did paint pouring. It was a very ambitious make and take as these are normally a little project that takes about 10/15 minutes. I had been to a class a few months ago at Hello Crafter in Saltaire, and a big part of that was learning to mix your paints and mediums correctly. As we needed the speed of a make n take, I had done all of the prep previous to the retreat, and the ladies just had the fun of selecting their paints, adding them to the cups, and doing a "Pour". If you haven't seen paint pouring before, take a look on YouTube it really is very therapeutic to watch !
as you can see each one is quite unique

Scrapstars Retreat ....
Well my feet are just coming back down to earth after another fabulous Scrapstars Retreat in Leeds. We had 30 ladies this year, fabulous projects and amazing teachers, and already am being asked when is the next one, and as always those ladies asking me why we can't have two a year :) its heartwarming to have such tremendous support and loyalty, and also always lovely to have a few new faces each year. It really is like spending a weekend with old friends, as we are all like minded, share our stories from our photographs and of course all love Scrapbooking. Here are just a few of the projects we created ....

Botanical Butterfly, designer series papers ....
Finally had some time to work with these papers over the weekend, here is my first offering, a scrapbook layout with a hidden photo under the flap, some embellishments are from my stash, and I have used some old school Stampin Up punches, I absolutely love the gorgeous blue sheet of paper in this collection, but haven't actually used it yet!

Stacking Rings Class ....
Had a great evening at Hello Crafter in Saltaire last night. We had a three hour class to make silver stacking rings. Firstly we started by making a copper practice ring, and then we made three silver rings from silver wire. we curved it into a ring shape (although mine looked like a kidney bean) soldered it, put it on a ring mandrel and hammered it into a proper ring shape, and used the anvil to hammer it flat. Next we pickled all the bits off in a light acid, then we decorated them with a pattern and finally they were polished (and oxidized if you wanted to), such a brilliant class with fantastic results.
